They are designed for posting in some public places for advertising or propaganda. Charitable organizations, political organizations, and advertising agencies use them on a large scale. Apart from their use as a medium of communication, posters have now developed into an art form and are collected by many.

Tip! These posters were not considered a potential art form and were not preserved or maintained; therefore old movie posters are quite rare. In some cases, there are only a few posters remaining of a certain film, as cinema owners returned the posters for a price.
